Sorry!!! Was getting them settled in and then (one at a time) bringing the dogs out. Hmmm, this is going to take some work.

Raven was the calmest, but she was also the only one drooling! LOL

    Kick - I got 10.
The young lady and her Father delivered them. Even clipped their wings (only one side per bird) and showed me how to do it.

Congrats...that's a lot of work. I hope that you enjoy your eggs, and that they are plentiful. How many hens are you getting? I know that you answered that before, but I'm too lazy to look it up.

RD, I hope that you feel better soon.

Dode - possibly this afternoon. Waiting to hear back on a time frame from my "chicken girl". The birds I'm buying were raised as part of an FFA project.

I'll try and post a better pic, but there is a lot of old wood in the west end of the run. That stuff was intentionally included in the run area, hence the bend in the fence. Several years ago we had plans to burn it off in an outdoor pit (even at that point it was over-dry and starting to decompose). However, when I started moving it from that pile area to the middle of the yard (where the pit was) I discovered it had termites. So I stopped moving it because I wasn't going to give those buggers a free ride closer to the house!

So I have a feeling the hens will be doing a buggy happy dance for several days when they arrive.

When do the new tenants arrive? Here's a thought, lay a board on the ground and a few days later turn it over and watch the chickens go crazy over the exposed bugs.
