There are options to learn about different parts of amateur radio (HAM) communications, including the use of computers to connect, old fashioned Morse code (CW, or continuous wave,) and regular voice with a microphone as most people picture radio communication.

Boards are posted at different spots to tell a little of what's going on, so if you've been studying, you can make notes about what you've done.

To make it more fun, there is also a contest, as clubs and individuals try to rack up the most contacts. The club here has sacks of shiny pins, and if you contribute 10 of those radio contacts, you get a shiny!

The good part is, it's not over for another 12 hours or so! If you want to meet your nearest club, learn a little, maybe get on the air for a contest, you have the second half of this event, and every future one that comes along.
