Sheet metal vs. cast iron stoves

This brings up something I have wondered about. Sheet metal verses cast. I always thought cast was better, but I see more and more of the new stoves made of sheet metal.

Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Eh, not much difference. Cast is usually a little more expensive, takes longer to heat up, thicker. Sheet steel is usually welded, cheaper, heats up and cools down quicker. But overall, they are both ferrous based and pretty similar. Whatever works best or is cheapest is what I would go with.
