    Communication/Comms, is it important?

If you put the questions and answers on the backs of sheep ,maybe Tex and AA would take the time to study (multitaskers that they are) :snigger:

you must be able to "shoot, move and communicate" I have not tried amature or ham. I have a cb radio in my 65 vwbus/camper as when we go camping my bus club travels in packs of 10-15 old buses. we go from san diego to lake havasu (7 hour trip) or Yuma,az or all over california. using cb helps keep us together and safer.

I heard a Ham operator talking about a site called Hamsphere ,it's a program for $30 a year you download a program that gives you axcess to HF radio .If you could not afford a ham setup ,you could practice on a simulated radio and make real contacts .
I know that it would be of no value after shtf but till you get a real setup ,you could practice the craft . There is a two week free trial period ,with legitimate call sign. whats to lose?
If there is something better in the mean time ,pass it on .
