      Catastrophic Reset

Sacajawea, if we ever experienced a reset in this country, I believe that in order for it to do any good so that we could actually tell a difference, we would need something catastrophic. If it were anything less, our government or TPTB could step in and act like the 'Holy Savior' and we would end up worse off than we are right now. That would also cause more people than we currently have to be dependent on the government.

Just as an example, say that the US dollar is knocked off its pedestal as the means of trade for middle east oil. This would remove any and all stability that the dollar has. At the moment, the dollar is used because it actually stands for something. We see it as getting weaker, but the bankers have alot riding on the reputation of that dollar. Commerce as the world knows it today, cannot function without energy and the US Dollar is how that energy is traded. If that ever changes though, prepare yourself for that catastrophic reset.

It will have the potential of being the Great Depression times ten. Should that ever happen, there will be alot of who are left starving with noone to help. Any confidence people have in our government will be gone. People will see the truth for what it is and they won't be able to deny how the government along with the bankers completely screwed this country over. The people who make it through this ordeal, will see things in a different light as I explained earlier and they will not stand for a government that we have now.

I really feel that survivors of a catastrophic reset will see the value of the Constitution as the Founders of this country intended it. It would not surprise me to see some of the later amendments rewritten or stricken from the Constitution all together. Survivors who make it through a collapse like will be needed to make a difference will not stand for a government that would intrude upon their privacy or personal business. You have to keep in mind that it will be the doers who would survive something like this and the ones who expect others to take care of them will either die off, or they will learn to do for themselves. There will be criminals who survive probably, but those types usually don't last long around people who are used to taking care of themselves.

I stand by my earlier post and would really expect that whatever government comes about would be an extension of the people who survive and their morals and character. There was quite a bit of wisdom and thought that went into the original US Constitution and I personally believe it is one of the more perfect documents in this world's history. The people who are able to make it through whatever could be destructive enough to take down life as we know it will be able to recognize that document for the wisdom it contains, atleast I hope so.

Of course, all of this is strictly my own opinion and I very well could be wrong.

If we cannot define a simple word like greatness, how can we ever hope to use it as a measuring stick to know when we have risen beyond average?

Well, then Tex, let's just say that time is running REALLY short. I don't disagree with you. I'm merely wondering out loud - and throwing spaghetti at the wall to see which strands stick. The Petrodollar demise begins within a week - if the Russians and Chinese mean what they say and say what they mean.

But until now much of this was in the realm of hearsay and general wishful thinking. After all, surely it is "ridiculous" that a country can seriously contemplate to exist outside the ideological and religious confines of the Petrodollar... because if one can do it, all can do it, and next thing you know the US has hyperinflation, social collapse, civil war and all those other features prominently featured in other socialist banana republics like Venezuela which alas do not have a global reserve currency to kick around.

Or so the Keynesian economists, aka tenured priests of said Petrodollar religion, would demand that the world believe.

However, as much as it may trouble the statists to read, Russia is actively pushing on with plans to put the US dollar in the rearview mirror and replace it with a dollar-free system. Or, as it is called in Russia, a "de-dollarized" world.
