Episode-1098- Angery American on his Book "Going Home" [ 1:07:16 ] Hide Player | Play in Popup | Download
Angery – adjective – “A sarcastic, condescending, or taunting use of the word angry.”
American – noun – “One who is a citizen of the United States of America”
That should set the stage for our interview with Chris “Angery American” today on his new book, “Going Home”. One reviewer described this book as addictive in fact what he said was,
“Imagine squatting behind a dumpster trying to melt a page of this book in a spoon so you can get your fix, yeah, it’s that addictive.”
Here is a description of the story.
Imagine you’re driving down the interstate, it’s Friday and all you can think about is getting your weekend started. Then to begin the ruination of your much anticipated weekend the grating tone of the Emergency Alert System flashes over the radio, then promptly dies.
This is the beginning of a 250 mile odyssey for Morgan Carter. Morgan works on the road and finds himself far from home when his car dies, as well as his Blackberry and every other piece of electronics he has. With no idea what has occurred he reluctantly finds himself on shanks’ mare carrying that ridiculous pack that everyone made fun of him for keeping in the car.
Morgan has to find his way across the state of Florida, from Tallahassee to the heart of the state in Lake County.Along his way he has to seek out food, water and shelter where he can, not to mention keeping himself from being killed by any number of now scared and desperate people. During his travels he will try and help where he can, but that can turn out to be a costly mistake.
We live in a wonderfully modern society where anything we want is a mouse click away. The lights come on with the flip of a switch and even a child can turn on the faucet at the sink and water always comes out. But what if it all went away?
Could you face what Morgan faces, could you make the decisions he has to make? Life and sometimes death in the blink of an eye, could you do it?Last edited by unseenone; 08-15-2013, 10:31 AM.

As of the date of this post, there are some 569 reviews of Book I posted on Amazon. Some are less than flattering, but some others are absolutely priceless. You'll enjoy reading many of these reviews. Average 4+ stars.
I am sure AA Hole would like to thank each and everyone of those that posted reviews, good, bad or indifferent. There is a special place on this board for some of you.
A couple of examples;
This is one of the best books I have read in along time and I beg for a sequel from this author. I am a marine combat vet. Vietnam and this writer sees the true writing on the wall. It is a adventure in depth , length and brilliance. Please continue on with the story and your insight. I HATE to see what is in our future. I shall see you in the foxhole, l am afraid, as our country caves in to socialism. Best to you. A. American. What a fitting handle. THERE ARE A FEW OF US LEFT. USMC
When I first looked at the reviews for this book, I though,Wow, this guy got 40 or more of his friends to give him five starts. I have not come across another book with that many reviews with all five stars and nothing else. But after reading it I have to totally agree that this is one of the best SHTF books I have read. The story is of a man on a sales trip caught away from home when a EMP/CME type event happens taking down the entire grid. He luckily has his emergency bag in his car and starts the long walk back home. Along the way he meets up with others and is soon involved in a struggle against a rogue government trying to take advantage of the situation. The book is very well written, even the dialogue between characters is believable. The only disappointment I have is that I noticed the book just came out so I'll have to wait that much longer for the second part.
Imagine crouching in a dark alley, trying to melt a page of this book in a spoon so you can shoot it and get your fix....ya, it's kinda like that. This book should carry a warning label due to it being highly addictive.
I am warning you this story will casue you to loose sleep. This book is very addicting. Once you start it's hard to put down. A great catastrophic near end of the world story. Must read.

Surviving Home (Going Home)
As of the date of this post, there are some 197 reviews of Book II posted on Amazon. Some are less than flattering, but some others are absolutely priceless. You'll enjoy reading many of these reviews. Average 4+ stars. Now don't jump over there expecting to by the Paperback, it's not out yet.
It would be great if you could post a review if you haven't done so, as it really helps.
I am sure AA Hole would like to thank each and everyone of those that posted reviews, good, bad or indifferent. There is a special place on this board for some of you.
A couple of examples;
Book one grabbed my attention, but this book sucked me down the rabbit hole. I seriously can't wait until book 3 hits! If you try to plan ahead for your future or your families in this uncertain time, this is a story that is so believable, you will be drawn in and it will leave you begging for the next book!
Wow! I've been waiting for this book to come out ever since I finished A. American's debut novel, "Going Home". The realism of "what might be" continues to grip you with ever turn of the page. Morgan deals with a "new normal" home life where you never go out unarmed, you can't just pop down to the Mom & Pop store for a dozen eggs, and a multitude of other problems. He may not always deal with them the best way, but he deals with them the best way he can at the time.
Once again, A. American hits it out of the ball park. Just like in "Going Home", the language can be course, but so is the world that Morgan is living in. If you're easily offended, I would be surprised if you made it this far.
My only problem with Book 2 is that I can't buy Book 3 yet. I hope we don't have to wait too long for it to be written (hint hint). I wish I could give this series more stars.
I can only hope that A.A. will continue this great story! Everyone at the survivalist boards myself included wondered if Jess would make a return. Now we know and that's making this story even more intense!! Someone needs to pick up the movie rights to these novels NOW!!
Knocked it out of the Pork
I have been following AA and this story from the beginning. Having thoroughly enjoyed the first book, Book II knocks it out of the park. For those of you who have criticized the grammar and punctuation you should find this a vast improvement.
The story picks up where Book I left you hanging. It will keep you on the edge of your seat until well.. everything must end and when it does you will be wanting more.
Some words of warning for the uninitiated. There is colorful language and action some might find offensive, if you do, do not buy it. If you have not read Book I, then start there first. Plan on getting nothing done once you start this book, as you will not be able to put it down or concentrate on anything else until you do.

Thanks Unseenone for the great posts. I could not put a review on Amazon because (if you can believe it) I have never purchased anything on Amazon. I remember you told me I could do a review on another site, maybe one of the big bookstores? Could you post it here in case anyone else may want to do a review for AA also?
Thanks
