ok The Event EMP or what ever it is? how much of the earth is affected? I know by the Ham radios you know the UK and seems all of the USA. how about the rest of the world? if it were solar it would only hit the part of earth facing the sun when the event happened.or about 1/3 of the earth. if it was man made it would take a lot of nukes going off at the same time to take out the whole world. so i am just wanting to know how much of earth was hit?

no. the solar burst would shut down 1/3 to maybe as much as 1/2 of the earth. but after that happened if someone set off 6 to 8 nukes at about 300 miles up spaced at places around the world not affected. you could shut down the whole earth.

McMurdo station might be "spared" - but they'd still be screwed. Same for a few isolated spots up north, easy to imagine it now, huh?
