While the last piles of trash are being cleaned from the 50th anniversary fiesta at Martin Luther King’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech in Washington, AWD has been reflecting on how the dreams he had for America in his youth have been totally destroyed. What once was a promising America with limitless potential is now nothing more than an out of shape, punch-drunk fighter way past his prime tottering before the knockout blow. This is what’s become of America by embracing liberal ideals over the past 50 years.

It wasn’t supposed to be this way. AWD grew up in the late seventies. Life was simpler then. Families lived together. There was little divorce, it seemed. Racial relations were much better. AWD remembers having nearly as many black friends in high school as white. Of course, the families of my black friends were intact and my black friends either went to college, the military or work after graduation. Just like my white friends. As a “yoot,” AWD was (and is still) a huge fan of black music from the seventies. I would attend concerts by black groups like Cameo, Parliament-Funkadelic, Con Funk Shun, the Bar-Kays and many others. Often, my friends and I were the only white faces in the coliseum. Didn’t matter. Everyone came to party and dance. And we did. No problems, no fights or beat-downs, just civilized people having a great time at great concerts. What has become of those days? Gone forever!
READ THE REST HERE. It's well worth it.

I don't always agree with what he says, but I overwhelmingly think that he speaks what many of us dare not say. I read his and his crew's posts daily.
