If you're waiting until you're stable, you might be on the wrong forum.
All joking aside, this forum really helped get me thru my recovery from a motorcycle accident and resulting amputation. Keep your chin up, and if we can assist, just say so, as long as you don't mind if we poke ya a bit too.

I would spend several weeks every summer on east Sutton lake fishing/hiking with my best friends family. I will pm you when I can travel over that way. I really want to take my old English mastiff to the beach. Just a little too big until my truck is done to fit in the car.
Another Mastiff owner! Our old EM/Ridgeback cross is almost 10, not getting around as well as he used to. Heceta Beach is a great place to take the dogs, lots of room for them to play.

I will be running our booth at the Boardwalk Market in Florence during the weekends this summer. Let me know when you head this way and hope you get to feeling better soon!

No problem poking kickstand. And your right, I am and always will be far from normal. Lol.

I have been off work for 14 months. Still can’t feel my foot and can’t sit, stand or walk for more than 10-15 minutes due to pain. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem too much more they can do. I do get to see a specialist neurosurgeon to see if the first surgeon screwed up like the insurance thinks. I did not think at 46 I would be looking at not having the use of a leg. I appreciate the support! Im also sorry to hear about your mc accident. I have ridden a dirt bike two feet before landing on my ass when I was a kid. After that I knew I had no business being on one.

Here you go medicmike! He’s about 240 right now, but slims down to a petite 220 in the summer

Realize that I know nothing of your situation, but if it's an option that the docs have suggested might be helpful, I'd say cut that biatch off. I know that if infection hadn't set in and made amputation about my only *option*, and if they had been able to *save* my foot, it would have been a painful, useless club for the rest of my life. Amputation 1.5 months after the accident gave me back my life and my mobility.

As for motorcycles, I understand exactly what you mean. I never rode as much as a minibike as a kid. My first time on a bike was when my brother showed up at the bus station to pick me up when I returned home from Marine Corps boot camp on his Suzuki GS550 in 1982. I had my full Seabag on my back, and was told to "hang on, and don't try to 'help' leaning on turns". I instantly fell in love with riding. Rode for 30 years prior to my 'incident'. I still miss riding, but it seems like every time I start getting "the urge" , I seem to happen upon, or witness a nasty cycle accident. I was fortunate enough to get in one 5 mile ride after my amputation, but then nature intervened and damaged my wife's Kawasaki, thus putting an end to my two-wheeled endeavors.
