Redman, did you ever decide on what to do for the office ?

On a side note, I saw a woman walking across a parking lot in purple scrubs, top and bottom. DO NOT DO THAT! The immediate image that came to mind was the Grimmace. And she wasn't a large woman .

For now, I am sticking with the dockers or cargo pants of some sort. The duluth are nice, but the price hurts.

Between m being pregnant, k's legal trouble, house repairs, the totaled vehicle, etc. we are trying to keep expenses low. I need to find a vehicle asap. We would love to have another expedition, but they are hard to find in good condition and in our price range. Suburban seem more plentiful, but the one big thing m hates is that the seats won't fold flat. We use that feature a good bit.

We have a couple of girls that look like the jolly green giant in the scrubs I provide.
I actually put uniforms to a non binding referendum. The girls all liked scrubs I provided over jeans or whatever that they had to provide. Personally, I like the team feeling and look too. I also don't have to worry with ass cracks or cleavage issues that way. You would not think that would be an issue at work, but some of them dress like they are clubbing if you let them.

We just had another girl quit. She missed a week of work for illness. Handbook reads you have to have a doctor's excuse for more than 2 days. She refused to go to the doctor and turned in her resignation instead. Wtf is wrong with people?

I fired a mechanic for that a while back and unemployment accepted his claim saying if we were going to require a doctor's excuse we had to pay for the office visit...

I know everyone is different but if I'm out for a week there was a hospital or ambulance involved somewhere.

If it was a workers comp issue where it happened at work I can understand the business footing the bill. If not that's just silly but hey one more step towards socialism where people get the idea they don't have to work and let Uncle Sugar take the money from the rest of us that are busting our backsides to provide for our own families. The longest I have ever been away from work in the last almost 30 years was when I had a really serious case of the flu and that was 4 days. I was literally so sick I didn't want to be moved to get to the Dr.

Gesh, this went from a discussion about workwear to getting me all spun up about lazy worthless oxygen thieves. Thanks for nuthin guys..

Well, she was only there for 3 weeks and wanted a 1 week vaccation with her family...mom and dad. She said it had been planned for months, had to go, etc. Let her off for that, and 2 weeks later she was "sick" for a week. We did not need her anyway. No way she made enough to qualify for unemployment.

Of the people at work, myself and m and one other 40 something woman are independent of our parrents. The others, ranging from 19 to 27 all live at home, don't go to school, and are highly offended when mom and dad suggest they contribute at home, as in clean house, mow etc. None contribute to the financial needs of the house, after all, they can't afford it. They can however afford smart phones, usually on mommy and daddy's plan, a car, usually on mommy and daddy's insurance, and all the fast food and Starbucks they can consume, usually on their dime.

Not one of them has taken the insurance plan we offer, which saves me a ton of money, and no e of them will contribute to the 401k so they get the 5% match. This is other that myself, m and the one other 40 something.

We just hired 3 people. One left 2 weeks in because she was moving away from an abusive live in boyfriend she had just met on line, one left over the doctor's excuse, and the other seems pretty decent. I need to fill 3 positions. By this rate of attrition, I have to hire 9 to get three to hang.

The best one we just lost was the daughter of the 40 something. She was awesome. 16 years old, already graduated highschool, and started college this fall at 17. Plans to be a surgeon. She will be too. I hated to see her go, but I truly wish her the very best. We made sure to help with her expenses at school. Kids like that need to succeed so we stand a chance of making this country what it should be.

                Anyway, duluth pants rock. Lol

The entire Island of Maui was without power at the time of your post Red. Other parts of Hawaiian Islands have outages as well.

It was nothing too exciting. We got buckets of rain and the power got knocked out. Our driveway is washed away by the street end because of all the rain. It's 4WD low in that spot until it gets fixed.

I said I would get more of the Duluth pants if they held up well. So here it is months down the line, and I haven't managed a snag or fray on these, while I have ruined other garments with my usual flair and natural ability.

I just ordered two more pair of the Duluth pants.

Nice, how is the fit? Although their advertising is geared to the non GQ model crowd I see a lot of reviews that sight fit for "regular guys" to be an issue at times. I do have some of their Tee shirts and they have held up very well although they are much too heavy to wear in the summer. The tees fit well. I don't have the wings off the sleeves that I get with other brands in my size.

The pants fit me pretty well, though I might grasp the fabric of the legs and adjust things if I have any need for a deep horse-stance.

Duluth sent me a notification that they are running their spring sale. If you spend $75 you get free shipping and 20% off your order. Good way to save a few bucks and get some new work wear.
