      Eh, not much difference. Cast is usually a little more expensive, takes longer to heat up, thicker. Sheet steel is usually welded, cheaper, heats up and cools down quicker. But overall, they are both ferrous based and pretty similar. Whatever works best or is cheapest is what I would go with.

        If you can find a stove with or can get fire brick to line stove do so, the brick's mass holds heat and protects the metal from burning . The brick should last for quit sometime , http://www.lowes.com/pd_416015-850-F...uctId=50435002 shop around .
