  • Thought of the day

I've been neglecting my favorite paste eaters and window lickers as of late. Imparting lack of wisdom to total
strangers, making bracelets and serving papers makes one truly busy.

Anyways, thought I'd start reposting the MMG Thought Of The Day here as well to get extra feedback from
people who know me and have no problem trying to wound my inner child.

            Thanks, Red.
I was gonna do a series on how to handle, prepare and use cat parts for food, clothing tools and weapons. Them damned things just won't co-operate.

            These posts are more practical.

Good one MM, I'm used to having to teach this one to people when they realize that going outside can be nice.

Sit on a log instead of a rock, your behind won't be as cold.

                  MM,

I do a modified version of this when I travel for work. The camps we use are large and complex. Supply and Food Unit both have tons of cardboard boxes they have emptied.

So when I set up my tent I go grab several boxes and put them under my tent AND outside the front door as a clean area to take off my shoes and keep from tracking in dirt and stuff.

Often I am out there in cold weather, and this barrier between the my sleeping bag and the ground is helpful. Besides, it also acts as a cushion of sorts, and keeps the small rocks and twigs from poking me all night.
"Oh, America. I wish I could tell you that this was still America, but I've come to realize that you can't have a country without people. And there are no people here. No, my friends. This is now the United States of Zombieland"

It is interesting to see this. I was always taught as a kid to clear the duff from under the tent. Later I learned how valuable it can be.

That's to clear the bugs out, Red. I guess the process of moving it and putting it back would cause them to scatter.

I think my D needs to get mom an introduction to THESE friends of hers. This clip even made it to YouTube; it's how the "in the midst of economic-social-political collapse" modern woman relaxes these days. Apocalypse changes even fashion; she's been perfecting this look for 20 years.

Sheesh, some of this reminds me of a writing challenge over at the old homestead a while back. Basic survival stuff, aka "Tell me again why I'm in the woods with no knife, no gun, bow or spear, no equipment, and no way to make a fire?" That's why all those scenario writing challenges start with a plane crash, it's the only time some people are separated from BASIC ITEMS.
