How's that?

It would help if we knew a general context of what book llll will be about.

Yea what he said.

I assume it something like "Taking Back the Homeland"

The main thrust of the fourth book is about the camp, and spoiler alert! The fall of it. There will also be some serious losses in this one, it's not going to be pretty.

Hi AA,

I'm a recent fan and member. Nicely woven tale and I look forward to book III.

Here's my 2 coppers for a title idea: Stealing Home.

OK, perhaps it's only one copper.

I wasn't gonna ask, but where the fuck is there a range in friggin' Florida?

At Vinny's.

Back on topic, depending on what's happening, I kind of like the Stealing Home suggestion. You could also look at Bringing Home, Changing Home, Lonely Home, Worried Home, Building Home (adding people?) Etc.

The verb or suitable adjective + Home seems like the right formula.

Having devoured more books that I can even remember, sticking with the continuity of "Something" Home is a very good idea for the series. Most readers like that. I will have to finish Escaping Home to better understand the mindset of the main players to come up with better ideas. Don't know if #4 is the last. Here are a couple more.

So many sound like they have something to do with baseball. Although Stealing Home sounds appropriate, it also sounds like a guy sliding across home plate in a BB game.
Like AD said, our leader did not mention anything about home, I think they will all have to end with "Home" to fit.

Maybe even ..Where is Home?

So, I gots a question. Do you guys want me to start posting book 4 here? Just keep in mind that if I do I will have to take it all down at some point and may leave out some stuff. Something is going to happen in 4 that many of you will not agree with, may actually hate me for, but if you think about it it is totally plausible. Let me know tomorrow, if there are enough yes votes I'll start putting it up, or maybe I'll wait till enough of you have got through 3. The feed back helps, not to mention you guys will stay on my ass. Just remember, what's written will not be changed, I warned ya.

reddawn, it's entirely normal and appropriate for each character's lines to be written as that character would speak 'em. But all the stuff in between bits of character speech should not be excused.

As one fine grade school teacher once said to a classmate, "Stop asking, because spelling always counts. If the answer to a question is one word, and you write something else, I have to grade it by what's on the paper."

We want our guy to be a better writer than those other guys out there, so picky people have fewer excuses. We don't want them to take a look in these books, and then leave it on a shelf because they don't want to decipher it.

For Book IV, how about "Home'Aid"?

I'm putting up about the first 25% tonight and will add more later. Please comment, not on grammar and crap, but on the storyline, plot and flow. Let me know what you think.

From what I have heard of book 4, I would suggest names like: Vacation Home, Escaped Home, Retreat Home (though it might confuse people, they might think they are retreating back home and not at the retreat home), Temporary Home, surrogate Home, Replacement Home, Substitute Home, Bug Out Home. Just a few ideas.

I just finished reading the first three books in the "Going Home" series. I was very impressed. Cheers to A. American for bringing to light an important topic and writing a great story while doing it.

Thoughts on the 4th title... I haven't read all 15 pages of suggestions, but what about "Reclaiming Home".

MillenniumMan
12-06-2013, 08:23 AM
The main thrust of the fourth book is about the camp, and spoiler alert! The fall of it. There will also be some serious losses in this one, it's not going to be pretty.

Ok, I think you just opened a can of worms here. You've killed Little Bit, didn't you :(

Glad the only book I've ever written was a dehydration manual. Characters without end are a pain in the ass.

We have several nice ranges in Florida. The one I joined goes out to 800 yards, not bad for Volusia county or anywhere else in the nation.

Future Home?

The county isn't bad to live in but keep away from Daytona Beach proper. Homes there are very cheap, a 3 bedroom home goes for peanuts because the neighborhoods look like Somalia. The good properties are in Ormond, South Daytona, Port Orange, etc.. Housing is more expensive in the civilized areas of course but at least what you buy stands a good chance of gaining value while being a safe place to live.

Beaches here are outstanding and the Volusia county gun and hunt club has to be one of the best ranges I have ever been to.

Im new here but I've just started reading thru the posts after reading the first 3 books, one thing I love about the books is how Angery uses real places and names and its great to be able to look them up on google earth and see them. Adds a lot of authenticity to the books , 'keeps it real' if you know what I mean

here is one the bombing range gates, found it by following the highway names in the books.
